Falcons owner Arthur Blank envisions one international game per team, per year | NBC Sports
Every team would play an international game, every year.
Via Sports Business Journal, Falcons owner Arthur Blank said during a Saturday appearance on NFL Network that an “international game every year for every team” is “probably on the horizon.”
It makes senses. Even if certain teams will create far less excitement than others, it makes sense for every team to be expected to do it once per year, for competitive
ADreasons.
For now, the league is limited under the Collective Bargaining Agreement to a maximum of 10 international games per year. In the next labor deal, it’s widely expected that the number will increase to 16.
With that (or possibly before that) will arrive an international broadcast package, primarily featuring European games that begin at 9:30 a.m. ET.
Undervalued WR: Xavier Worthy, Kansas City Chiefs
ADP: WR25, 54th Overall
Xavier Worthy’s days of being undervalued may come with an expiration date—at some point in the not-too-distant future, the NFL is going to suspend Rashee Rice for his role in a street-racing incident and hit-and-run crash. Worthy’s asking price is already beginning to increase.
But right now, Worthy is still available in high-end fantasy WR3 territory. And for Mike Fanelli of Fantasy Pros, that ADP screams value.
“Worthy had a solid rookie year, finishing as the WR33, averaging 11 PPR fantasy points per game. However, he started to shine after Rashee Rice suffered a season-ending knee injury. More importantly, the former Texas star ended the year on fire. Worthy was the WR10 during the fantasy playoffs, averaging 10.3 targets and 21 fantasy points per game, totaling 19.6 or more in every outing. Furthermore, he was outstanding in the Super Bowl, totaling two touchdowns and 35.7 fantasy points. Worthy’s 0.61 fantasy points per route run ranked 15th out of 88 wide receivers with at least 50 routes during the fantasy playoffs, posting a higher average than Ja’Marr Chase (0.47), per Fantasy Points Data.”
Expecting Worthy to catch eight passes for 157 yards and a pair of touchdowns (his stat line in Kansas City’s loss in Super Bowl LIX) isn’t reasonable. But with Rice staring at a multi-game suspension and coming off a major injury, the door is open for Worthy to stake his claim as Kansas City’s top wideout.
And with Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes making it clear that he wants to attack opposing defenses vertically more this season, that could mean big things for Worthy in 2025.
Top 2025 Fantasy football sleepers
One of the 2025 Fantasy football sleepers the model is predicting: Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice. A 2023 second-round pick, Rice followed up his excellent rookie season with a phenomenal start to the 2024 campaign, racking up a 24-288-2 receiving line in Weeks 1-3 before injuring his knee. Rice averaged 7.3 targets and 16.2 PPR points per game when he was on the field last season.
He unfortunately missed the remainder of the season, but appears to be fully healthy leading up to the 2025 NFL season. Kansas City’s receiving corps is one of the deepest in the league, which could benefit Rice as he’s expected to see a lot of one-on-one coverage. Rice is averaging one touchdown for every 11.4 catches he’s made thus far in his career, so there’s value to be had in selecting him on draft day. SportsLine’s model ranks him as a top-20 wide receiver for 2025, making him one of the top sleepers to target for your Fantasy football lineups.
2025 Kansas City Chiefs training camp: Latest intel, updates | ESPN
Much of Sunday’s practice for the Chiefs, who had their first full days in pads, was about the performance of rookie left tackle Josh Simmons.
Each member of the Chiefs’ coaching, personnel and training staff had their eyes focused on Simmons, the first-round pick who has recovered from a torn patellar injury in October that prematurely ended his final season at Ohio State. Once again, Simmons took all of the first-team repetitions and did well in his first full action against the Chiefs’ collection of veteran pass rushers, such as George Karlaftis, Charles Omenihu and Mike Danna.
“He’s a hell of an athlete, man,” Danna said of Simmons. “He has a bright future. He’s physical, athletic and it’s great to see him working with the ones. He’s a tough competitor.”
On the opening repetition of the first team period, Simmons made a smooth transition, as he noticed that Omenihu, who lined up across from him, dropped into the coverage after the ball was snapped. Simmons switched to Danna and was effective with his pass-protection techniques, allowing quarterback Patrick Mahomes plenty of space in the pocket to deliver a pass in the middle of the field to receiver Rashee Rice.

Matthew Stafford injury update: Rams QB is ‘week-to-week’ | USA Today
Head coach Sean McVay announced on Saturday, July 26, that Stafford will be considered “week-to-week” as he manages back soreness. McVay previously said Stafford would be ready to practice on Monday, but the team ultimately decided to be cautious and take a “modified approach” with Stafford as he enters his 17th season.
“We are going to take some more time with him,” McVay told reporters on Saturday, five days after players reported to training camp on Tuesday. “Nothing’s changed in terms of the setback. ... But the ultimate goal is (Week 1 vs.) Houston (on Sept. 7) and being mindful of that.”
McVay added, “We will take it a week at a time with him. ... I feel like that’s the smart thing to do.”
Sources: Chargers reach 4-year, $114M deal with Rashawn Slater | ESPN
The contract makes Slater the highest-paid offensive lineman by average annual pay in a contract in NFL history. Slater has been extension-eligible since last offseason, but general manager Joe Hortiz and the Chargers chose to wait while others at his position in his 2021 draft class signed lucrative extensions, including the Detroit Lions’ Penei Sewell (four years, $112 million, $85 million guaranteed) and Minnesota Vikings’ Christian Darrisaw (four years, $104 million, $67 million guaranteed).
The Chargers announced Sunday they reached an extension with Slater but did not disclose terms of the contract.

Chiefs Training Camp Day 5: Xavier Worthy discusses 2025 outlook
This offseason, quarterback Patrick Mahomes and head coach Andy Reid have emphasized their desire to unleash the deep ball in 2025. Training camp’s padded workouts are a perfect training ground.
Second-year wide receiver Xavier Worthy will play a vital role in the club’s potential return to deep passing.
“He’s a part of that for sure,” said head coach Andy Reid. “We’ve got speed — the best we can utilize it — and we’ll still work our short to intermediate game as we go, but that’s all part of it.”
In what was an otherwise awful Super Bowl night for the Chiefs, Worthy said that the fourth quarter — in which he caught four passes for 74 yards (and a 50-yard touchdown) as part of a 157-yard night — provided him a boost of confidence going into this season.
Much like wide receiver Rashee Rice during his rookie season, the game had finally clicked for Worthy — with help from veterans like DeAndre Hopkins, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Travis Kelce and Mahomes.
“I feel like it started slowing down for me a little later in the year last year,” said Worthy. “I had those vets with me. I had D-Hop with me. I had JuJu. I had TK. So guys like that — and Pat — just obviously helped me understand coverages. And once you learn that, once you learn the coverages in the league and what guys are going to do, it all comes down to making a play.”
As a second-year player, Worthy has become a guiding light for fifth-round rookie Jalen Royals. With Rice likely to be suspended in the early weeks, he may be featured earlier in the year than we might normally expect.
