Former Barcelona chief Ramon Planes has made no secret of the fact that he’s been eyeing the club’s stars since moving to the Saudi Pro League with Al-Ittihad.
Planes has now said that he would love to
snap up Ronald Araujo if he became available as he thinks so highly of the Uruguay international.
“I would sign him tomorrow. He’s one of the best center backs in the world,” he told Marca.
Araujo has been linked with a move away from Barcelona this summer, but it does appear he will stay at the club.
Juventus had been mentioned as possible admirers but a move to the Serie A side has failed to materialise.
Yet there’s still talk that Barcelona could make one more sale before the window closes for financial reasons.
Deco has also said that one of Barca’s center-backs need to leave, fuelling speculation that either Araujo or Andreas Christensen could be sold.
