Current Maryland field hockey defender Josie Hollamon and former midfielders Emma DeBerdine and Leah Crouse were named to the Team USA Pan American Cup’s traveling squad.

Hollamon, who is entering her junior year, was named the defensive player of the year for the Big Ten
in 2024. She played all but 39 available minutes across 20 games and finished the year with 16 points, third-most on the team.
DeBerdine also played for Maryland in 2024, using her graduate year of eligibility after taking the 2023 season off to prepare for the Olympics. Through five years with Maryland, DeBerdine accrued 74 points from a deeper-lying midfield position, starting 95 of 96 possible games for the Terps.
Crouse came to Maryland in 2022 after spending four years at former ACC rivals Duke. She finished her lone season in College Park with 10 goals and 5 assists, with half of her goals standing as game-winners as the Terps advanced to the Final Four.
Maryland’s three representatives on the 20-woman preliminary squad are tied with North Carolina for the most from a single program. Big Ten rivals Penn State and Northwestern follow with two alumni each.
The team will be whittled down to 18 members immediately before the tournament. The United States will begin play on July 25 against Mexico.
