The chase does indeed seem to be on for Juventus and Jadon Sancho, and that has taken the latest step in trying to bring a little English flavor to Turin this summer.
Although probably not what Manchester United was hoping for.
According to Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio earlier this week, Juventus have submitted their first bid to United in an attempt to sign the 25-year-old Sancho. It is far from the rumored €25 million price that United probably hope to get for a player they invested €85 million in four
years ago. Instead, Juventus’ bid, according to Di Marzio, is in the neighborhood of €10 million plus bonuses, something that could push the deal to a total value of €15 million. It is very much of the low-ball variety, but also one that Juve probably know they have a little bit of leverage with considering it would be an outright sale for a player who is entering the last year of his contract after his big-money move from Borussia Dortmund.
Tuttosport reported on Sunday that Juve and Sancho’s camp have essentially agreed to personal terms on a contract, one that would pay the Englishman €5 million net plus another €1-€1.5 million in bonuses over the course of a four-year deal that would have an option for a fifth.
.@juventusfc , resiste il nome di Sancho: può arrivare a prescindere da Conceição qualora uscissero 2 esterni. I bianconeri arrivano a 10 milioni + 5 di bonus

So, to recap:
- Manchester United reportedly want €25 million for Sancho.
- Juventus’ first bid for Sancho is €10 million plus bonuses.
- Juve and Sancho’s reps appear to have agreed to the framework of a contract.
Considering how much Sancho has been paid since being signed by United in the summer of 2021, getting personal terms done wasn’t going to be the easiest process compared to other negotiations Juventus have been involved in lately. However, the contract is always going to be the easier of the two things — and yes, we have to say that every time.
But if there is such a wide gulf between what Juventus are offering United and what the Red Devils actually want for Sancho, what comes next will be interesting. This first low-ball offer feels like a test balloon of sorts just to see how much United would be willing to budge or come down from that reported €25 million target. Surely this isn’t the last bid Juve will have to make to try and sign Sancho this summer, but it’s one that was probably easy for United to decline and tell the Italians to come back when there’s a little more money attached to it.
