The Milwaukee Brewers provided an update on Sal Frelick Wednesday afternoon, and right-handed pitcher Elvin Rodriguez was claimed by the Baltimore Orioles.
After Frelick’s recent injury, the team provided an update on his diagnosis as a Grade 1 hamstring strain, according to Adam McCalvy. They have yet to put him on the injured list as they determine the severity of the injury and possible recovery time. Frelick was batting .295 over his last 30 games at the time of his injury.
In other news, Rodriguez
was claimed off waivers by Baltimore. Through 18 2⁄3 innings pitched for Milwaukee this year, he had an 8.68 ERA. He gave up seven home runs in that span while striking out 17 batters and walking seven.
