Making that his offseason goal, Thibodeaux turned to an ancient sport to help him pin down more quarterbacks on Sundays. “Wrestling is another form of tackling,” Thibodeaux said Thursday afternoon after the second practice of his fourth training camp. “I just wanted to make sure that I can use some techniques from wrestling into football.”

The clock is ticking on Daboll's chances of proving he wasn't
ADa one-year mirage in New York. The Giants finally overhauled their quarterback room, flirting with Matthew Stafford before signing Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston. They used their first-round pick on Jaxson Dart, who represents the long-term prospect they presumably expected to draft in 2023 before Jones' career season in 2022 sent them in another direction. If Dart shows promise, Daboll will be able to make the case that his continued employment is the best thing for his quarterback's future. If not? He should be in demand as an offensive coordinator elsewhere, but his time in New York will likely come to an end.

Hyatt’s has slipped down the depth chart to the fourth receiver. However, that is not something that concerns the receiver on the first day of training camp. “For me, it’s just executing, being consistent [and] making plays that come to me,” Hyatt said. “I’m not really worried about any rotations.”

"I think it was [former Yankees manager] Joe Girardi talking about, I'm paraphrasing here, but talking about Derek Jeter, his best attribute was he was always consistent," Wilson said. "But he was also consistently great at adjusting. And I think that's one of the things that you have to be able to do as a guy, a leader, as a player, is be able to consistently adjust and consistently grow."

QB Jameis Winston, New York Giants. While with the Browns in 2024, Winston tallied a 69.5 PFF passing grade with 11 big-time throws and 18 turnover-worthy plays. The 31-year-old displayed that he’s still capable of slinging the ball at a high level in spurts, producing 82.0-plus PFF passing grades against the Steelers and Bengals last year.
The Giants are likely to start either Russell Wilson or first-round pick Jaxson Dart, leaving Winston as the team’s presumptive QB3. New York could keep the former first overall pick in that role, but Winston figures to be most teams’ top trade target when a quarterback injury inevitably happens.

New York Giants: S Makari Paige. The 6’4” Paige doesn’t look like most safeties. Still, he played various roles in Michigan’s defense. He has experience working at each level, though he can be exploited by smaller and quicker receivers—which is expected from a tall, lanky safety. His ability to physically match up against opposing tight ends is more than enough to keep him on the roster, though.
