Another night of Las Vegas Summer League
, another night without the best rookies for the Jazz playing. Ace Bailey hasn’t seen the floor in Las Vegas, and Walter Clayton Jr. played one game and left with a hamstring injury. But there have been some impressive showings from some of the other Jazz players this summer league, and Cody Williams being the most promising.Williams had another strong showing tonight and has given consistent, good showings all summer league. In tonight’s 86 - 76 win over
the Washington Wizards, Williams had 23 points on 9/16 shooting fromt the field 3/6 shooting from three. It’s not the most gaudy of numbers but considering how rough last season was, you can’t help but be happy. Yes, summer league comes with a grain of salt, but you have to be happy seeing him improve.

Averaging 19.0 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 2.2 steals.
I'm not sure he's been "loud," but he's stuffed the stat sheet.
Utah also got a better performance from Isaiah Collier tonight. His shooting was better (7/17 from the field and 2/6 from three) with three assists. Collier’s summer league has been a bit of a roller coaster. He appears to be pushing hard to prove his value, but at times it has looked like too much. He’s forcing his style of play at times where it’s not there, and it hasn’t worked very well. Tonight, he appeared to let the game come to him a bit more, and it was felt smoother and more in control. Like with Williams, you have to take summer league with a grain of salt, but you will always celebrate a player improving, no matter how it comes.
Utah has one more game left on the schedule, and we’ll see if Ace Bailey or any others will play, but it’s not looking very likely.
