The 2025 baseball season was disappointing for the Virginia Tech Hokies. The Hokies finished the season 31-25, but were 12-18 in ACC play and fell to Clemson 6-1 in the ACC Tournament, ending their season.
While the baseball season is in the rearview mirror, the 2025 MLB Draft took place last week, and four Hokies had their names called.
Mathieu Curtis, 6-foot-5, 220-pound RHP from Fort Mill, South Carolina
- Round 14, Pick 447 to the Atlanta Braves. Curtis played one season in Blacksburg after beginning his career at USC Upstate.
Jared Davis, 5-foot-9, 180-pound SS from Orlando, Fla.
- Round 17, Pick 500 to the Oakland Athletics. Davis spent one season with the Hokies after transferring from Florida SouthWestern State. Davis also played at Arizona Western College.
Griffin Stieg, 6-foot-3, 215-pound RHP
from McLean, Va.
- Round 18, Pick 542 to the Seattle Mariners.
Andrew Sentlinger, 6-foot-2, 205-pound LHP from Charlotte, North Carolina.
- Round 20, Pick 586 to the Chicago White Sox.
All four players have at least one season of eligibility remaining and could return to Virginia Tech in 2026.
Congrats to each of these four Hokies.
