Monday night Orioles game thread: at Red Sox, 7:10

WHAT'S THE STORY?

Samuel Basallo will make his catching debut for the Orioles tonight in Boston. Basallo got his first hit—and nearly his first home run—out of the way in his big league debut while serving as the designated hitter.

Basallo and Trevor Rogers will form Baltimore’s most exciting battery of 2025. Rogers has absolutely dominated over 11 starts this season, and the lefty will have an opportunity to further cement his comeback season against the Sox.

Jackson Holliday will lead things off and play second base.

Jordan Westburg and Gunnar Henderson will take the left side of the infield, and Ryan Mountcastle will play first base. Jeremiah Jackson will slot in as the DH, so Coby Mayo will begin the game on the bench.

Dylan Beavers will return to right field. Colton Cowser will take center field, and Dylan Carlson will stand to his right.

You can read more about the quick two-game set in my series preview from earlier today. Enjoy the game!
