Will Ospreay has two herniated discs that’ve gone into his spinal cord

WHAT'S THE STORY?

@AEW

One of the segments that AEW announced late for Dynamite tonight (July 23) was a promo from Will Ospreay.

We’d heard that Ospreay would be taking time off to recover from some nagging injuries after All In Texas, which saw him taken out on a stretcher during the main event after a Death Riders attack (Ospreay was one of the key “AEW Avengers” who neutralized the Death Riders so Hangman Page could win the World title from Jon Moxley). So it was surprising to see that he’d flown into Chicago from England

for this week’s show.

Bruv was on-hand to tell AEW fans about his upcoming hiatus, but he made it sound like he was going to be taking a lot more than a few weeks off. Ospreay said he’d been hiding a neck issue from AEW medical, and that when he was taken to the hospital in Texas they discovered that discs around his C2 and C6 vertebrae have herniated and “gone into” his spinal cord.

As quickly as the words “spinal fusion surgery” popped into your head, though? That was about as quickly as Will said that he thinks he can make it back by Aug. 24’s Forbidden Door PPV in London.

The scene closed with a hug on stage from his All In tag partner Swerve Strickland.
