Indiana football head coach Curt Cignetti was asked if he saw that Barry Odom, the new head coach at rival Purdue, had seemingly criticized the Hoosiers’ non-conference scheduling habits.
Odom was discussing his thoughts on scheduling during an appearance on 107.5 The Fan in Indianapolis when he took an opportunity to chide Indiana’s recent non-conference moves:
“I could take the approach of one of the other schools in the state, cancel games and do some of those things, but the schedule is what it
is,” Odom said.
Sitting down for a podium interview session at Big Ten Football Media Days on Tuesday in Las Vegas, Nevada, Cignetti offered a response and a wink.
“Barry Odom? I like Barry Odom,” Cignetti said. “Taking a shot at our schedule? Did I think about it? Not much. But that would be an overstatement.”
“I saw it. It was a flicker in my brain. Then it was over.”
