Preseason Week 2: Saints vs. Jaguars – Social media reactions

WHAT'S THE STORY?

In Week 2 of the preseason, the New Orleans Saints returned to the Caesars Superdome to host the first of two exhibition games at home. Thanks to some late-game heroics, a 17-all tie was the final result in the Saints’ matchup with the visiting Jacksonville Jaguars. There was plenty of good, bad, and ugly to watch in this one, so let’s see how social media reacted.

Bub Means going down with an injury last week, it became a fuzzy picture as to who would step up and round out the WR room. That image was cleared up in this game as both Mason Tipton and Dante Pettis shined. Both players had had a good training camp, but were finally able to show their value in real game action.

Defensive Rookies make Big Plays:

2025 draft picks, Jonas Sanker and Danny Stutsman, were both flying across the field in this game. Stutsman has become an instant fan favorite since joining the black and gold. Sanker has looked every part of being an absolute steal to this point in the offseason. He sealed the tie with an interception on the final play of Sunday’s game.

QB Battle closer than ever… or is it?

Kellen Moore has certainly got a tough decision on his mind. The players’ performance in practice and games is not making that choice any easier. After being bested by rookie Tyler Shough in the first preseason game, second-year QB Spencer Rattler took his turn in the limelight. Rattler had a solid day, capping it off with the biggest drive of the game. After throwing an INT on the series prior, Rattler responded by driving the offense down the field in a two-minute drill that was finished with a TD connection to Pettis. Rattler then ran the game tying two-point conversion.
