It wasn’t all that long ago that Kevin Owens was telling Cody Rhodes about his brutal neck injury and the recovery from said injury. That recovery involved simply waiting as long as possible before operating on it due to the extensive nature of what doctors would have to do.
It would seem that wait ended this week.
Indeed, Fightful Select reports Owens finally had surgery on Friday, July 18, and he is now officially on the mend.
Owens has been out of action dating back to before WrestleMania 41, but
he was dealing with issues long before that. A career in professional wrestling is bound to lead to neck problems, as we’ve seen with so many others, but especially when working the style Owens has for so long. He’s given his body to this.
Whether or not he can continue to do so after this remains to be seen but he’s being realistic about it. For now, it’s a waiting game to see how he recovers but a major step in the process is now complete.
Let’s hope he gets better as quick as possible.
