It’s Sunday once again, and you know what that means — it’s time for our weekly social media roundup! The Yankees may have hardly played this week, with just the series finale against the Chicago Cubs and a three-game set with the Atlanta Braves since last week’s edition of the Social Media Spotlight. But that does not mean that this was a slow week — far from it, in fact! With this year’s rendition of the MLB Draft and the All-Star festivities, today’s spotlight is filled to the brim with content
of Yankees Past, Present, and Future. Apologies in advance to those of you with slow internet connections, but let’s get started!
Dreams Fulfilled, and a Journey Begins
There are two moments in baseball that I absolutely adore: the moment a player learns he is drafted, and the moment he gets the call to The Show. The first is the culmination of a long and lengthy slog through middle school, high school, and (possibly) collegiate baseball, the second the moment that the childhood dream becomes a reality. As such, what better way to start off this week’s spotlight than with a collection of the newest Yankees posting about hearing their name called during the draft?
The winner of this year’s “Best Reaction” belongs to Yankees’ sixth-round pick Rory Fox. His girlfriend, Reese Sanders — herself a hurdler at Notre Dame — posted on Instagram that Fox learned that he had been drafted by the Yankees, did not tell anyone, and let his family react to learning the news live on the broadcast (much like No. 2 overall pick Tyler Bremner).
While you can check out the Pinstripe Alley Draft tracker for a complete list of this year’s draftees and their social media accounts, here are some highlights (for Instagram stories, I’ve collected screenshots from other accounts):

A Party in Atlanta
As youngsters throughout America launched their professional careers, the 2025 All-Star game festivities were underway in Atlanta, Georgia. As always, the Home Run Derby was the opening act, where Yankees second baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr. was the organization’s first participant since Aaron Judge won in 2017.
Heading into the event, Chisholm received warm wishes, gear, and even advice from an unexpected slugger — 2021 NL Silver Slugger Max Fried.
Chisholm may not have found much success in the Derby—really, he didn’t find any success at all—but that didn’t stop him from enjoying the festivities. He was mic’ed up during Media Day, and as always, was a treat.
And during the first-ever swing-off to break an All-Star Game tie, he was on the field, livestreaming on Instagram.

Still, the second baseman wasn’t the only one who had fun in Atlanta. Carlos Rodón, his wife Ashley, and their kids had a blast, enjoying the Derby, the red carpet, and
Although he didn’t play in the game, Uncle Max Fried repeatedly lent a helping hand to his teammate.
And to wrap it all up, we have CC Sabathia, Joe Torre, and an assortment of other photo dumps from throughout the week:
Way to Go, Oswaldo!
Congratulations to Oswaldo Cabrera, who got married this week!
