Pedro Fernandez was one of several Barcelona debutants to catch the eye in Sunday’s friendly win over Vissel Kobe.
The 17-year-old scored in the 3-1 victory and drew praise from manager Hansi Flick after the opening game of their pre-season tour.
Dro’s former coach Luis Pérez Barreiro has now been chatting about the teenager and offered fans a bit of insight into the player.
“He is very intelligent, he was a very good student. I already saw his talent from a young age,” he told Jijantes.
“On the pitch,
ADhe would take charge in the important games, and in the rest, he would stick to what you asked of him. He wasn’t the typical guy who wanted to be the center of attention. He knows how to fade into the background, and socially, he thrives on that background.
“He has to be himself, natural on the pitch. He’s very demanding of himself. If he shows his creativity... I see him capable of anything.”
Fans will hopefully be able to see more of Dro in action for Barcelona on Thursday when Flick’s side take on FC Seoul in South Korea.
