On Friday, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish announced that this year’s IRISH WEAR GREEN game will be against the Boise State Broncos on October 4.

While typically, a green out game (like a white out or black out or red out) would be reserved for a big home night game — Notre Dame has been all over the map in when they call for one. At least, however, the Irish actually WEAR green uniforms
for the green out games after several years of indifference. Past years which had the green jersey and the IRISH WEAR GREEN moniker include:
- 2022 vs Cal Golden Bears
- 2023 vs Ohio State Buckeyes
- 2024 vs Louisville Cardinals
In 2018 Notre Dame called for a green out versus the Michigan Wolverines, but wore blue jerseys. Later that year the Irish wore green jerseys on Senior Day against the Florida State Seminoles.
It’s actually fitting that Notre Dame will wear all green uniforms on green turf as Boise State has caused headaches for decades with all blue uniforms on blue turf.
