After trading away position players in each of their first two trades on Thursday, the Dodgers also added to that group, trading for outfielder Alex Call from the Nationals in exchange for minor league pitchers Eriq Swan and Sean Paul Liñan, per multiple reports.

Jeff Passan at ESPN was first to report the trade

, which was confirmed by Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic. Andrew Golden of the Washington Post was first to report the prospects in the deal.

wRC+, nine doubles, three home runs, and two triples in 72 games this season.

The right-handed hitter is a career .263/.346/.405 hitter with a 110 wRC+ against left-handed pitchers, and has a 124 wRC+ against southpaws this season. At the very least, Call seems like a viable platoon partner with the left-handed Michael Conforto, whose numbers have improved in the last month-plus.

The 30-year-old has mostly split time between corner outfield spots this season, with a plus-three Outs Above Average in right field. Call has started 85 games in center field during his four major league seasons, his most starts at any position.

The 30-year-old Call will be eligible for salary arbitration as a Super Two player next season. He has two option years remaining, having used only one option year thus far, in 2024.

Earlier Thursday, the Dodgers sent catcher Hunter Feduccia to the Rays in a three-team trade that netted them three players, including pitcher Paul Gervase. In the deal for reliever Brock Stewart, the Dodgers sent outfielder James Outman to the Twins.

Swan, a 2023 draft pick of the Dodgers, is coming off his best start of the season with six scoreless innings on Wednesday night for High-A Great Lakes. His Loons teammate Liñan won California League pitcher of the month after an outstanding April for Low-A Rancho Cucamonga.

In the latest MLB Pipeline rankings, Swan was tabbed at the 16th-best prospect in the Dodgers system and Liñan was No. 20.
