An ESPN analyst said — with a straight face on live television — that Illinois will definitely make the College Football Playoff this season.
I know we’ve been talking about it being a real possibility for the entire offseason, but it hasn’t really set in that it can be something that happens. And Dan Orlovsky might be the first I’ve heard say it out loud.

With a big SEC logo in the background and Paul Finebaum grinning ear to ear, Orlovsky actually said Illinois should be a lock to make the CFP, while Michigan and may be sweating it out.
