UFC BJJ 2 full fight card: Fowler in title bout; Tammi Musumeci, Fonacier added
The full fight card for UFC BJJ 2 on July 31, 2025 has been released, and it includes a second title bout and a few more world champions.
Outside of the previously reported Tackett vs. Canuto title bout, two-time ADCC trials winner Mason Fowler will also face IBJJF Brasileiro champ David Garmo for the vacant
UFC BJJ light heavyweight belt. Fowler is 6-1 in UFC grappling events, and is fresh off a pretty nasty choke + omoplata finish at UFC FPI 11.
Also featured on the card are other world champs such as Mikey’s sister and five-time IBJJF world champ Tammi Musumeci, teen phenom and first ever Filipino world champ Jalen Fonacier, and no gi world champ Kennedy Maciel.

Drills
ADCC planning gi event series
ADCC in the gi? The promotion has long been known as the most prestigious no gi championship, but it looks like they will be branching off and hosting events in the traditional kimono as well soon.
“I think it’s time. I am working on doing an ADCC gi event,” longtime ADCC promoter Mo Jassim said on his Instagram (HT: Jitsmagazine).
No details have been revealed just yet, but that’s the type of move that can make a massive impact on the sport. ADCC entering the gi space could attract the top athletes, and immediately rival IBJJF’s longtime place as the most prestigious gi world title.
Grappling keeps growing and competition between these massive organizations will only add more options that will benefit the athletes.

Move of the Day
WNO 29 preview: Hanson steps in, Vagner Rocha comes back from heart attack
WNO 29 goes down Friday, July 25, 2025, and there’s been a late change to the event. Owen Jones has dropped out and Max Hanson will be stepping in on short notice to face Gianni Grippo.
The card is stacked with entertaining bouts between young stars, such as double ADCC champ Adele Fornarino vs Jasmine Rocha and Roberto Jimenez vs Ryan Aitken, but two longtime BJJ veterans will be taking top billing. Kit Dale, who has had a resurgence as of late with quality wins at WNO 28 and CJI 2 Trials, will take on a fellow vet in ADCC silver medalist Vagner Rocha.
Interestingly enough, this would be the 43-year-old Rocha’s first return to competition since he was hospitalized due to heart failure earlier in the year.
The full WNO 29 line up is below.
WNO 29 fight card
- Kit Dale vs Vagner Rocha

- Michael Sainz vs Natan Chueng

UFC vs. CJI? Craig Jones and Mikey Musumeci to debate issues on BJJ contracts
CJI boss Craig Jones has been taking shots at the UFC’s business practices and “exploitative” BJJ contracts, while UFC BJJ champ Mikey Musumeci unsurprisingly says his promoter looking to “take over” the sport with exclusive deals is a good thing.
Apparently they will debate the merit of UFC’s approach and these controversial contracts next month, when they appear on “Mighty Mouse” Demetrious Johnson’s podcast.
