Bayern Munich has been deep into a pursuit of Liverpool attacker Luis Diaz for weeks now and — finally — a break could be on the horizon per Sport Bild (via @iMiaSanMia):
Bayern have learned over the weekend that Liverpool are willing to negotiate for Luis Díaz. Both clubs are optimistic that a deal will be struck. Bayern are willing to pay around €75m. Personal terms already agreed: 4-year deal, around €14m/year gross salary.
Liverpool has already closed deals for Florian Wirtz (Bayer Leverkusen),
Milos Kerkez (AFC Bournemouth), Jeremie Frimpong (Bayer Leverkusen), Giorgi Mamardashvili (Valencia CF), and a handful of other players, with another big transfer in Hugo Ekitiké expected to close soon as well.
At some point, Liverpool needs to clear some space on its roster and its payroll, so a deal with Bayern Munich for Diaz could happen relatively quickly from here. One interesting wrinkle to this story is that there are rumors floating around that Liverpool could also make a play for Real Madrid winger Rodrygo.
With a move for Hugo Ekitiké getting close, the reality is that Bayern Munich is likely going to get Luis Diaz…whether fans like it or not. Bayern Munich has reportedly also exited talks with VfB Stuttgart to focus on a deal for Diaz. It might also just be time for Bayern Munich to rip off the band-aid and sell Kim Min-jae, João Palhinha, and Sacha Boey. Finally, we have a note Bayer Leverkusen’s CEO and his recent slam on Bayern.
