WHAT'S THE STORY?

Triple-A: Syracuse Mets (31-44/18-6)

SYRACUSE 6, OMAHA 2 (BOX)

Nolan McLean is doing his best to show that he deserves a shot in the majors this year. After a start where he pitched into the eighth and allowed only two runs, McLean now has an ERA of 3.01 in Syracuse. The strikeouts are down a tad but he’s clearly leapfrogged Sproat as the next guy up.

Roster Alert: Syracuse Mets sent CF Rafael Ortega on a rehab assignment to St. Lucie Mets.

Double-A: Binghamton Rumble Ponies (45-22*/16-8)

BINGHAMTON 6, READING 2 (BOX)

It’s another win for Binghamton as they continue to rip in the second

half. Bigger question - why are Jonah Tong and Jett Williams still here? Tong lowered his ERA to 1.72 with one run allowed over five innings; Jett launched his 9th homer of the year and nearly got his OPS over .900 on the season. Both seem more than ready for Triple-A at this point. Puzzling.

High-A: Brooklyn Cyclones (46-20*/12-15)

GREENSBORO 8, BROOKLYN 4 (BOX)

It might be time to officially acknowledge that Brooklyn’s magic has moved to Binghamton for the second half. Oh well. it was fun while it lasted. The offense managed four runs without any standout performances, but Joel Diaz and every reliever that appeared gave up at least one run. Not a great way to win.

Single-A: St. Lucie Mets (34-31*/17-9)

ST. LUCIE 7, DAYTONA BEACH 4 / 5 (BOX)

Eleven runs in a 5 inning game is pretty fun. Now the weather that forces the game to end after five is less fun of course, but a win is a win. Nick Roselli launched his sixth homer of the season as part of the win.

Rookie: FCL Mets (24-28)

STAR OF THE NIGHT
