Nikki Bella looks to be next for Becky Lynch and the Intercontinental championship

WHAT'S THE STORY?

By the time SummerSlam had wrapped up last night (Sun., Aug. 3, 2025) at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, it was clear Becky Lynch was done with Lyra Valkyria — per their previously agreed upon stipulation — and likely Bayley as well. That meant WWE would need to find a new challenger for her Intercontinental championship.

Lynch showed up on Raw in Brooklyn this week to say the floor was going to be open to new competitors. Just not on this night.

That’s when none other than Nikki Bella

hit the scene.

Bella said she watched Lynch come up through the ranks and, well, it turns out she’s become quite the disappointment. This is the best the division has ever been, and that’s why she returned. But why did Becky return?

“Hollywood wasn’t what you thought it would be?”

Ouch.

Lynch brought up the fact that she had a role in Happy Gilmore 2, a movie Nikki was also supposed to be featured more in before her scenes were allegedly cut. That was quickly used as fodder for these two in a feud they’re brewing up. Bella went after Becky for being a liar like her husband, Seth Rollins, so Becky took a shot at Nikki’s former relationship with John Cena.

Hot damn!

The segment ended with Lynch laying Bella out with a punch, and it’s clear where this is headed.
