The 2025 NFL season is “underway,” with the very first real team-on-team action taking place in Preseason Week 1 with the annual Pro Football Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio.
And the first touchdown of ‘25 football came on a pass from a former NFC West rival to a former Seattle Seahawks player.

Congratulations, Will Dissly!
Dissly earned himself
a second contract with Seattle, before signing with the San Diego Chargers of Los Angeles last year. He had 1,421 receiving yards in Seattle.
Noah Fant had 1,400.
Strange to see Trey Lance out there go 13/20 for 2 TD - I was specifically told he was not NFL-caliber and the San Francisco 49ers couldn’t use him.
The game itself was a complete disaster for the Detroit Lions, losing 34-7 and prompting a bunch of “don’t judge a team by preseason games” reminders from friends.
For their own part, the Seahawks kick things off in one week’s time, a Thursday game of their own, at home, against the Las Vegas Raiders. Rookie tight end Elijah Arroyo has been turning heads of his own accord, and will also look to have an impactful first preseason game.
