Happy Max Muncy starts rehab Day to all who celebrate!
Muncy will join Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday to begin his rehab assignment. If all goes well, he could be back with the team when they return home after the upcoming Tampa Bay series. Fingers and toes crossed!
On Monday, the Dodgers managed to win a pretty non-stressful game
, even if newly returned Blake Treinen tried to make it “exciting” at the end. They now try to go for the series win against the Reds on Tuesday, still looking for what
would be only their third one of the month.
They will face lefty Nick Lodolo, who currently has the longest active scoreless streak in the majors at 14 innings. He is 8-6 on the year with a 3.08 ERA. In his last outing, he threw a complete game shutout against the Nationals, striking out eight and only allowing four hits and no walks. In his last 22 innings, he’s only allowed two runs and 11 hits total. In his last four games at home, he’s allowed only five runs in those games combined.
He will prove to be difficult for the Dodgers, who only have a .216 BA and .293 OBP against lefties over the last month or so. As a team, they are also striking out at a 26-percent rate. Lodolo has a very low walk rate of 1.7 per nine innings and has thrown at least 85 pitches in his last six games straight.
The Dodgers will counter with Tyler Glasnow, who has been great since his return from the IL. Glasnow has steadily been increasing his outing durations, going from five to seven innings over his last three games. His last outing against Minnesota was his best so far, going those seven full innings while allowing only one run, and striking out 12.
It looks to be a matchup of excellent pitching, which hopefully will be entertaining as we all await any news leading up to the trade deadline.
