MLB.com: The MLB first-year player’s draft came to a close just before yesterday’s Home Run Derby after starting Sunday night, and you can follow all the picks across baseball here. Our team here at PSA has done arguably a better job focusing on the Yankees’ picks, and you can follow all that action and analysis here.

actually hails from the Bronx and grew up both going to Yankees games and playing in fields across the street from Yankee Stadium.

New York Daily News | Gary Phillips: Many members of the Yankee coaching staff, including pitching coach Matt Blake, hitting coach James Rowson, and catching coordinator Tanner Swanson never got to the big leagues — some never played pro ball at all. The excitement for this week’s All Star festivities is palpable among this group, as Aaron Boone brought the entire staff to Atlanta for tomorrow’s game.

Yahoo Sports | Ian Casselberry: Speaking of Aaron Boone, the American League skipper has filled out his lineup card for today’s game. To the surprise of nobody, Aaron Judge is penciled into the third slot, with just-crowned Home Run Derby champion Cal Raleigh behind him at cleanup. Old friend Gleyber Torres leads off.

New York Post | Joel Sherman ($): There are a whole bunch of historical comps for what Aaron Judge has done over the past couple of seasons, and those comps are usually lists of the very best hitters to ever step in a box. For his more recent career marks though, including his 350th home run, perhaps his best Yankee comp is Mickey Mantle, who’s as inner circle as it gets. Judge is virtually tied with Yogi Berra in more contemporary stats like WAR, but when we start talking Mantle numbers, it makes me feel awful silly for doubting him back in 2016.

MLB Trade Rumors | Darragh McDonald: The Yankees added some bullpen help Monday, claiming right-hander Rico Garcia off waivers from the Mets. Garcia has had walk problems in the minor leagues, but a 28-percent strikeout rate at Triple-A does show that there’s some stuff to be had. If there’s anything I trust the Yankees with, it’s taking relievers I’ve never heard of and turning them into guys I want pitching late in games, so I’ll be optimistic on this one.
