Those who sat down on their couch and popped on the freshly released “Happy Gilmore 2” over the weekend were greeted with a number of random celeb appearances.
Eminem stole the show with his wild cameo, which likely helped overshadow one that caught the eye of many WNBA fans. In a rather brief but still noticeable scene, Sparks guard Kelsey Plum popped up during the anticipated sequel.

As far as “out of nowhere” cameos go, this is right
up there! No warning that she was going to be in it. Just, boom, there’s Kelsey Plum!
Naturally, Plum was asked about her acting debut and how the role came about after the Sparks’ practice on Monday.
I asked Kelsey Plum about making her acting debut in Happy Gilmore 2. Here is what she had to say. "When Adam Sandler calls you, you're in. So I would love to do more things like that. I had a ton of fun. ⁰I learned a lot. So definitely excited about future opportunities."

It’s even funnier that Adam Sandler reached out to her about appearing in the film. Honestly, though, it makes sense. Sandler is known for loving basketball, so him being familiar with Plum fits the bill.
This does raise some questions, though. First, did Plum and Sandler play pick-up while filming? If it wasn’t currently in-season, having the two of them go play pick-up on the beach in Santa Monica would be easy publicity.
Secondly, with Sandler’s penchant for casting the same people in roles in his movies, is this just the first of many cameos for Plum? Is she going to be in Billy Madison 2, bullying Sandler in grade school? Will the next Hustle movie be about Plum?
