Sean McVay shared that Davante Adams and Cooper Kupp both have a very high IQ and understanding of the game of football and that’s good for the Los Angeles Rams who are banking on Adams being able to fill the void left by Kupp, and though Adams has been the more productive receiver during his time in the NFL, Kupp is the receiver who has a Super Bowl ring and one of the greatest seasons a player could have to his name. Adams has big shoes to fill.

Sean McVay says Davante Adams reminds him of Cooper Kupp in this one area (theramswire)
“He’s special. He’s got just such a big picture understanding. In a lot of instances, it reminds you of Cooper’s football acumen where these guys look at the game through the lens of a quarterback,” McVay said. “They understand coverage contours. They understand timing, rhythm, route distribution and there’s a lot of experience and then there’s an understanding of the craft in and of itself with how you work edges, how you separate, how you’re able to try to be able to regain leverage even if you’re in an unfavorable spot.”

Davante Adams says Sean McVay has same type of mentality as Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant (ramswire)
“In his situation, the way he does it, there’s nothing wrong with it,” Adams said on “Up and Adams” this week. “There’s certain ways you can go about harping on things to where it’s more negative and it doesn’t allow you to move forward. He has the growth in mind when he’s talking about not being satisfied with what he’s done, which is the mentality of all the greats. I feel like Jordan was that way. Kobe with the ‘Job ain’t finished.’ That whole mentality, the greats are never satisfied where they are and they’re always trying to continue to elevate. And having won a Super Bowl, he knows what it takes now so when you see certain things or people don’t acknowledge the small accomplishments along the way, you as a great, you want to sit there and appreciate it, but, ‘Let’s ease up a little bit on the congratulations’ and continue to push and hopefully match what we’ve done, if not exceed it.”

“Each of the eight teams will wear their custom-designed Rivalries uniform during a single home game against a division rival.
