Phillies acquire Harrison Bader from Twins for two prospects

WHAT'S THE STORY?

The Phillies have made their second trade with the Minnesota Twins in as many days, as they have reportedly acquired outfielder Harrison Bader in exchange for outfield prospect Hendry Mendez and RHP Geremy Villoria.

Jeff Passan was first with the Bader news while Matt Gelb was first with the prospect package.

The Phillies add their outfield bat, one who is performing well this year, but has some scary under the hood numbers. The possibility of regression is real based on those numbers, but even then, he’s likely a better option over Johan Rojas, the player most likely to lose playing time with this deal.

How the outfield shakes out will be interesting. Does this mean Bader full-time in center field, Brandon Marsh sliding over to left field? Is Max Kepler still with the team after today? Do Bader and Marsh platoon in center while Justin Crawford gets called up to take over left field? Lots of questions still to answer and hours to go on the deadline clock.
