Aaron Davenport fell to 2-4 on the season with the loss. He pitched 3.0 innings, 3H, 3R/ER, 7BB, and 5K. Bradley Hanner allowed 2R/ER on 3H in his 1.0IP. Jake Miller gave up 4H and 1R/ER over 2.0IP. Jack Leftwich
gave up 1R/ER, 2H, and struckout 2 in the 7th inning. Franco Aleman pitched the 8th, giving up 2R/ER on 3H.

The RubberDucks had a similar fate to the Clippers, but with a touch more offense. The team had 9H and 3BB on the game with Travis Bazzana going 2-for-4 with 2H, 1RBI, 1BB, and a double.
In the bottom of the 8th, Tyresse Turner drew a lead off walk. Bazzana hit a RBI double to left to score Turner. Angel Genao hit a one out single, advancing Bazz to third. A wild pitch scored Bazzana on the error. In the bottom of the 9th Jake Fox hit a lead off double to left. Another wild pitch allowed Fox to score for Akron’s final run.

Rorik Maltrud fell to 2-3 with the loss. He pitched 1.2 innings, giving up 4R/3ER on 1H and 3BB. He struck out 2. Davis Sharpe threw 2.1IP, 2H, 2R/ER, 1BB. Shawn Rapp went 2.1IP, 0H, 2R/ER, 3BB, 3K. Zach Jacobs closed the game pitching 2.2IP, 3H, 2R/ER, 1BB.

The Captains had a bit more luck against their opponent, securing the victory. Jackson Humphries improved to 1-8 in 5.0 innings of work. He went 2H, 2R/ER, 5BB, striking out 8. Dwayne Matos pitched 2.0, striking out one and not allowing a single baserunner. Rober Wegielnik earned his sixth save in 2.0IP. He gave up 1H and struck out 2.
Ralphy Velazquez kicked off the scoring in the top of the first. Alfonsin Rosario hit a one-out double to left then scored when Ralphy hit a RBI single to right. A fielding error allowed Rosario to score.

In the top of the sixth Kevin Rivas hit a one-out double to right. Christian Knapczyk reached on a fielding error and Rivas advanced to third. With runners on the corners Alfonsin Rosario doubled to left to score two. Nick Mitchell hit a two-out single to score Rosario, putting the Caps up 4-2.

Top of the eighth, the Caps extended their lead. Alfonsin drew a lead off walk and stole 2nd base. Ralphy hit into a fielder’s choice, advancing Rosario to third. Rosario was thrown out attempting to score. With two outs and Ralphy on second, Jaison Chourio hit an RBI single to center to put Lake County up by 3 runs.

They sealed the deal in the top of the ninth with Jacob Cozart drawing a one-out walk. With Juan Benjamin batting, the pitcher balked, putting Cozart on second. Benjamin singled to third, putting runners on first and second. Kevin Rivas reached on a fielding error and everyone advanced 90. Cozart scored leaving runners on second and third. A wild pitch allowed Benjamin to score for the final run of the game.
Lynchburg Hillcats (54-44) - Single A

The Hillcats and Red Sox had a close game. Braylon Doughty falls to 0-7 after 5.2 innings of one run baseball. Doughty allowed 6H, 1R/ER, and struck out 7. Eudry Alcantara (1.1IP) and Sean Heppner (2.0IP) both pitched 1H, scoreless baseball. Alcantara allowed a walk and struck out three. Heppner struck out one.
The Hillcat offense recorded 3 hits, all from Jeffrey Mercedes, and all singles. Welbyn Francisca drew a walk making up the only other base runner for the Hillcats.
