The New England Patriots announced the signing of former Boston College center Alec Lindstrom along with tight ends Tyler Davis and Cole Fotheringham on Wednesday. To make room, the organization waived wide receiver Demeer Blankumsee, released running back Trayveon Williams and waived offensive tackle Yasir Durant with the injury designation.
The moves leave head coach Mike Vrabel’s roster at an active 91.
Lindstrom, 27, started 36 of his 46 appearances during his Eagles career. Undrafted in 2022 after twice earning first-team All-ACC honors, he logged his rookie season on the practice squad of the Dallas Cowboys. The 6-foot-3, 300-pound ex-Rimington Trophy finalist later caught on with the UFL’s Memphis Showboats. A training camp stint with the Los Angeles Rams followed in 2024. So did a workout in Foxborough before joining the New York Jets, with whom he made his NFL debut on special teams. The younger brother of Atlanta Falcons All-Pro Chris Lindstrom returned to the UFL ranks as the calendar reached 2025 and started all 10 games at center.
Davis, 28, was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the sixth round of 2020 NFL draft at No. 206 overall. The 6-foot-5, 252-pound tight end out of Georgia Tech appeared in eight contests during his rookie campaign and was waived at the league’s cutdown deadline in 2021. After a stop on the Indianapolis Colts’ practice squad, Davis spent two seasons on the 53-man roster of the Green Bay Packers before seeing his 2023 and 2024 both end on injured reserve. His career has brought eight receptions for 61 yards across 39 games, including one start.
Fotheringham, 27, entered the league as an undrafted free agent in 2022. The 6-foot-4, 245-pound tight end by way of Utah went on reside on the Las Vegas Raiders’ practice squad for consecutive years, twice serving as a standard elevation. Fotheringam joined the practice squad of the Houston Texans at its formation in 2024 and later returned to Las Vegas in the same capacity. He began the spring with the Denver Broncos before reaching an injury settlement in June.
Three arrivals gave way to three departures.
Blankumsee, 23, signed with the Patriots as part of the organization’s 2025 undrafted class in May. The 5-foot-10, 192-pound rookie wideout transferred from Toledo to Memphis in 2023. Across two years on the latter school’s depth chart, he caught 98 passes for 1,578 yards and 13 touchdowns.
Williams, 27, joined New England’s running back room after visiting for a workout in May. The 5-foot-8, 206-pound vested veteran was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the sixth round of the 2019 draft at No. 182 overall. From there, Williams appeared in 68 games while in the AFC North. He turned 62 carries into 307 yards and 15 catches into 74 yards while also averaging 22.5 yards per kickoff return.
Durant, 27, was in his second tour with the Patriots after originally being acquired via trade in 2021. If unclaimed, the 6-foot-7, 330-pound offensive tackle will revert to the club’s injured reserve. After playing collegiately at Arizona Western and Missouri, Durant signed with the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent in 2020. He made subsequent stops with the New Orleans Saints and Broncos following his lone regular season in Foxborough. And in June, Durant re-signed on the heels of an All-UFL spring with the champion DC Defenders. His NFL career includes 19 games and a pair of starts.
