Barcelona’s return to Camp Nou has been hit by yet another delay after the club announced the Gamper Trophy game has been switched to the Estadi Johan Cruyff.
The Catalans had been hoping to make their long-awaited return home in August, but it seems fans and players are going to have to wait a bit longer.
It’s already been reported that UEFA doubts whether Camp Nou will be ready for the start of the Champions League, and it seems Barca are working on a Plan B as well.
According to Mundo Deportivo,
Barcelona aren’t ruling out playing at Montjuic again for the first half of the 2025-26 La Liga season.
Barcelona have to make the decision within the next month, with MD reporting that the club have to inform La Liga and UEFA where the team will play by mid-August.
The latest news is a real blow for the club, players and fans and also a little embarrassing, particularly as Barca released a video last month featuring Joan Laporta confirming they would be back at Camp Nou by August 10.
