WWE finally releases Goldberg’s retirement speech video after Saturday Night’s Main Event

WHAT'S THE STORY?

The latest Saturday Night’s Main Event special on NBC ended with GUNTHER defeating Goldberg to retain the world heavyweight championship after a surprisingly solid match. Because they were on NBC without an overrun available to them, the latter’s retirement speech was cut short on the main broadcast.

WWE, for whatever reason, took their time releasing the full video of said retirement speech but it is now available for your viewing pleasure:

He said quite a bit in there but he put one hell of a heartfelt

message in it worth highlighting:

“Treat everybody with respect. Treat everybody the way you would want to be treated. Black, green, purple, Christian, Jewish, I don’t give a damn, you treat every single human being with respect. If I did anything with my career, I honored that. I tried to pass that down. Every single human being in this ring is of the same character because if I let them share the ring with me, that’s who they are. I’m absolutely honored, I’m floored. It’s just been one hell of a ride. And it doesn’t mean I’m going anywhere, I ain’t falling off the face of the planet by any stretch of the imagination. But I gained strength from every one of you. And I can’t thank you enough from the bottom of my heart.”

While he was hugging everyone in the ring, Cody Rhodes showed up to pay his respects before they said goodbye one last time.

So long, Goldberg.
