According to a report from The Daily Telegraph’s Matt Law (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), there are “industry mutterings” that Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane will return to England after the 2025/26 campaign:

There are ‘industry mutterings’ that Harry Kane will look to return to England after the World Cup in 2026. There’s a clause in his Bayern contract that reportedly decreases each year and insiders believe the German club may do business next summer. Tottenham secured a first-option clause in the deal

to sell Kane to Bayern, but that would only be applicable should Bayern agree to sell Kane and the striker wanted to return to Tottenham.

There is no fixed fee in Spurs’ first-option agreement, meaning the club would still have to trigger his release clause or negotiate a price with Bayern for Kane.

Despite Tottenham’s first-option clause, sources still believe Manchester United currently provide the most likely destination for Kane if he were to leave Bayern this time next year.

Many have, indeed, speculated that Kane could be set for an exit after this season. He achieved what he wanted with his move — winning a trophy — and Bayern Munich will have had the luxury of including Kane in its lineup for three seasons.

It seems like a natural breaking off point, so that the Bavarians can generate some revenue from a sale rather than watching him leave for free after 2026/27 season.

As for what might be next at the No. 9 for Bayern Munich, the club will have to evaluate options on the market. Nick Woltemade would seemingly be able to fill that void, but getting him is easier said than done.

The Bavarians finalized the much-anticipated signing of Luis Díaz from Liverpool FC to give the team a new look at left-wing? Will the 28-year-old get an early starting nod or will Vincent Kompany hold him out a bit longer? That will be just one of the key decisions made for the match against Olympique Lyon at the Allianz Arena.
