is some Jays’ new:

Shane Bieber will make his first start for the Blue Jays on Friday in Miami. Shane has made seven minor league starts this year, with a 1.86 ERA in 29 innings. He’s allowed 22 hits, 3 walks and 37 strikeouts.

It will be interesting to see how that first start goes.

Tonight’s lineups: We get to see old friend Spencer Horwitz. Paul Skenes has a league leading 2.13 ERA, so the team is in tough again.

There are injury updates:

  • Nick Sandlin is throwing from 120, if there is no pain, he’ll try throwing from the mound. We are still a long way from seeing him in Toronto.
  • Anthony Santander is actually swinging a baseball bat.
  • Yimi Garcia has been in Toronto to talk to the team doctors about his ‘ulnar nerve’ issues. I’d be surprised if he is back this season.
