WHAT'S THE STORY?

With just two episodes of Raw remaining before SummerSlam, WWE is loading up this Monday’s show with big matches and even bigger stars ahead of its two-night blockbuster.

So far, WWE has announced three intriguing matches and three key segments.

Roman Reigns is set to appear live at Houston’s Toyota Center with something to say. After returning last week and laying waste to Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed, Reigns is expected to address his former “Wiseman,” Paul Heyman, who turned on Reigns and aligned

with Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 41.

Reigns’ SummerSlam plans should come into focus this Monday. Rumors point to a one-on-one showdown with Breakker — a “battle of the spears” between two stars in their prime. If that’s the case, it would mark only Reigns’ third singles match in the past 19 months, a testament to how highly WWE regards Breakker.

As questions remain over the meaning of Reigns’ apparent new nickname, OTC1, WWE continues to promote him as the Original Tribal Chief, or OTC. In its Raw preview, WWE teased: “The OTC is set to address his one-time Special Counsel, Paul Heyman.”

If anyone can make the treacherous Heyman pay, “Only The Chosen 1” is the man to do it.

Elsewhere, CM Punk will speak on his upcoming World Title match at SummerSlam against Gunther. The only question is how long he’ll get to talk before “The Ring General” makes his presence felt.

Lyra Valkyria became the No. 1 contender for the Women’s Intercontinental Title by defeating Bayley in a 2-out-of-3 Falls Match last week. Champion Becky Lynch reportedly has a “proposal” for Valkyria before they meet at WWE’s summer classic. Considering Valkyria is already betrothed, it’s safe to assume it’s not that kind of proposal.

In action Monday is Sheamus, who looks to redeem himself against Rusev after losing to the Bulgarian Brute in a brutal battle last month. Sami Zayn finally gets his shot at Karrion Kross, and the next contenders for Judgment Day’s tag team titles will be determined in a Triple Threat match between The LWO, The Creed Brothers, and The New Day.
