The Atlanta Braves announced that third baseman exited today’s game against the Cincinnati Reds with lower abdominal pain. Riley was on the IL last month with a lower abdominal strain.
Luke Williams pinch-hit for Riley in the third inning of today’s game - which was the resumption of last night’s weather-suspended game at Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, TN.
The MLB Speedway Classic was delay by rain last night and resumed in the first inning this afternoon.
Whether or not Riley’s abdominal issue
will result in another IL trip is not yet known but with the Braves playing tomorrow in Atlanta against the Milwaukee Brewers, he won’t have the benefit of today’s previously scheduled off-day to aid his recovery.
