After spending a remarkable 15 years rising through the ranks at Real Madrid, right-back Lorenzo Aguado is officially departing the club to begin a new chapter of his career with Albacete. His move marks the end of an era for one of La Fábrica’s most enduring players, who holds the distinction of being the longest-serving youth player at the club.
Aguado’s time at the club, so far, reached its pinnacle last season when he fulfilled a lifelong dream—making his first-team debut in January during the Copa
del Rey match against CD Minera, sharing the spotlight with fellow academy players Diego Aguado and Chema.
Though he had offers from Qatar, Real Madrid rejected those possibilities, clearing the way for his move to Albacete—a club that already features another former Madrid man, Jesús Vallejo.
In his farewell message, Aguado reflected on his journey and the bonds he formed at the club.
“It’s not easy to put into words what it feels like to close such an intense and special period as the one I’ve experienced during these 15 years at Real Madrid. Not even I imagined how far this journey would take me. I’m the youth player who has been at the club the longest, managing to debut with the first team. I can say that I’ve fulfilled a dream,” recalls the player.
“Today I say goodbye with my head held high and my heart full. It’s been an honor to wear this shirt and defend these colors. But what I’ll truly take with me are the people: teammates who stopped being just that to become part of my family, coaches who have guided and taught me, and all the club’s staff who, from behind the scenes, work every day so we can give our best,” he concludes.
