The Daily Merengue is a place where you can feel free to d all things football. Do not be alarmed by the overt RMCF bias. It’s in the name! Shoutout to the mods who do a fantastic job, Valyrian Steel, Kung_Fu_Zizou, Juninho, NeRObutBlanco, Felipejack and Ezek Ix
STRIKER ERA
Is this the end of the out and out striker era? i mean, we have haaland, and lewandowski is winding down but now hybrid goal scoring wingers are more celebrated now than ever. You can argue that teams can win without a striker. Spain won a euro
without one. Gonzalo Garcia lit up the club world cup, but he’s more likely to be sold elsewhere than anything. Where have all the strikers gone?
RELEVANCE
What does a striker have to do or be to be relevant to Real Madrid? are we still looking for another benzema? or are we wanting more? youth academies around the world seem to be more interested in churning out the next hybrid winger than striker. there’s more money there i guess.
