Cody Rhodes appeared on today’s episode of Hot Ones, where he didn’t tap out going up against the spiciest wings he’s ever eaten. You can watch the full video at the top of this post.
During the interview, Cody was asked if rapper Travis Scott’s slap really did bust his eardrum earlier this year at Elimination Chamber. Cody admitted it’s true, but said he didn’t retaliate because he wants stars like Scott to keep coming back to WWE.
“I wish I could tell you it wasn’t true, because I wanted anyone else
ADto have the credit for that. So you’ve got Rock in the ring, and you’ve got Cena in the ring. But my man Travis, who nothing but love for, he has a big old hand. So yes, it did bust my eardrum.
If anyone ever wonders why I didn’t slap him, versus hit him with Cross Rhodes, he’s gracing us with his presence. At wrestling right now, again we’re getting all these fun folks, but years ago it wasn’t that easy.
...I want you to come back, man. Our house is your house. You know, maybe swing less, but our house is your house. So yeah, no, Travis did do that. That’s a fact.”
Our house is your house? That’s not a very spicy take from Cody on the man who injured him when John Cena turned heel. I guess Rhodes didn’t get the WWE memo about it being open season to trash “piece of shit” Scott, or perhaps this episode was taped before WWE’s relationship with Travis completely fell apart.
How do you think Cody did on Hot Ones? Let me know in the comments below, Cagesiders.
