With less than one week until the trade deadline, the Atlanta Braves waltz into the greater-Dallas-Fort Worth area for a three-game tryst with the Texas Rangers after yet another disappointing a six-game home-stand that saw them drop two-out-of-three games against both the New York Yankees and the San Francisco Giants.
Similar to the Giants before them, the Rangers are middle-of-the-pack in the American League West within an eyelash of the final Wild Card spot. The Rangers have been surging since
about a week before the All-Star break with a decent offense, a good starting rotation and a middling bullpen. The team parted ways with its former closer and long-time Brave Luke Jackson last week and seem primed to make a couple of moves to make a post-season push.
You know the deal with Atlanta. They look great for one game and like crap for two more. The question is more about if they will make a deal while on this road trip that continues to Kansas City and Cincinnati before returning home in early August than if they will get on a hot streak.
