Marcus Rashford is set to arrive in Barcelona shortly and complete a loan move from Premier League side Manchester United.
The forward will sign on an initial season-long loan, although the deal will include a purchase option should Barcelona want to make the transfer permanent.
Thoughts are now turning to which shirt number Rashford could take. The forward wore the No. 10 at Manchester United but that obviously belongs to Lamine Yamal.
Barcelona do have a few spare numbers up for grabs. The 14, famously
worn by Thierry Henry, will be free as Pablo Torre has left the club for Real Mallorca.
Rashford has recently professed his admiration for Henry when doing his best to try and engineer a move to Barca in a chat with Javi “xBuyer” Ruiz.
“He’s [Henry] comfortable playing off the left and in the middle and he is a free-flowing player,” he said. “When I was young I always enjoyed watching him in the Premier League. The No 9 position is becoming more natural to me.”
Yamal’s No. 19 is also free, after he switched to the 10, while the 22 is also available.
Rashford has a bit of history with both shirt numbers. He wore the 19 at United before taking over the 10, while he debuted with the 22 on his back for England and scored against Australia in friendly.
