I thought this move was already official some weeks ago. Evidently it was not. But now it is!
Mamadou Sarr has now officially re-joined RC Strasbourg on loan from Chelsea, after moving the other way just a few months ago (on a £12m transfer that was agreed in January). Sarr had been training with the Chelsea first-team since, and even made one substitute appearances at the Club World Cup.
The 19-year-old defender was a key member of the RCSA squad last season and he should be able to keep going in that
role for the season ahead as well to continue his development.
Sarr’s loan thus officially completes our three-loan allowance at our BlueCo sister-organization, with goalkeeper Mike Penders and midfielder Kendry Páez already making the move. We’ve also seen Mathis Amougou and Ishé Samuels-Smith join Strasbourg on “permanent” transfers this summer, and we’ve even had Chelsea U21 head coach Filipe Coelho switch to become the new assistant to their head coach, Liam Rosenior.
One big happy family!
Good luck, Mamadou and all the rest!
