Happy Saturday Husky fans. The Huskies got some welcome news today when 4 star defensive tackle T.I. Umu-Cais from Cherry Creek HS, CO committed to UW. The Huskies had long been considered one of the favorites for Umu-Cais and they needed to beat out North Carolina, Colorado, and UCLA to gain his commitment. Listed at 6’3” and around 307 pounds Umu-Cais projects as prototypical 3T defensive lineman who should be able to help the Husky defense not only stop the run but also rush the passer.
Rated as
the 40th best interior defensive lineman in the country, Umu-Cais is one of top interior defensive lineman country. It’s an understatement to call the pickup of Umu-Cais as massive for the program (we have discussed some of the whiffs along the defensive line for a while). Adding a player liek Umu-Cais to the 2026 further solidifies the program is on a upward trajectory and he should be ready to compete early for the Huskies. The Huskies will lose Anterio Thompson, Simote Pepa, and Logan Sagapolu after this season so reloading in the trenches was critical in the 2026 class.
Umu-Cais is the 21st commit in the class and 2nd interior defensive lineman in the class. That is all for now Husky fans.
