Bayern Munich recorded a 2-1 win over Lyon in a pre-season friendly at home, thanks to a second-half brace from Michael Olise. The game saw Bayern’s blockbuster signing Luis Díaz make his debut, which included winning a penalty and coming close to a goal on multiple occasions.
Speaking after the game, fellow Bayern attacker Serge Gnabry gave his first impressions of Luis Díaz.
“Very positive,” Gnabry said in comments captured by @iMiaSanMia. “He works hard, he’s fast and gets in good positions. I combined
with him a few times today. It’s a pity it didn’t result in a goal, but overall it was good.”
Díaz could be seen all over the pitch, even involved defensively. A particularly interesting combination between the two came just before the 70-minute mark, where Díaz cut the ball across goal for Gnabry, as the latter just missed contact and the ball went wide. The two will hope to increase their chemistry soon, while Díaz will hope to get his name on the scoresheet next time around.
