
After dropping the series opener to the American League West rival Texas Rangers, the Athletics hope to rebound for game two tonight at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. The Rangers lead the A’s in the division standings with a 52-50 record, currently sitting in third place in the west.
Taking the mound for the A’s tonight is 29-year-old lefty JP Sears. Sears, who continues to hear his name tossed around in trade talks, is currently 7-8 with a 5.13 ERA in twenty 2025 starts. He is 2-0 this season
against the Rangers with three earned runs in 10.2 innings. He’ll go up against 36-year-old lefty Patrick Corbin for Texas. Corbin is 6-7 with a 3.91 ERA in twenty games this season. He’s 1-1 this year against the A’s having given up four earned runs in nine innings in April.
