Buffalo Bills training camp is here and as I was in Rochester this past week, I saw a ton of Bills fans out and about. So this weekend’s chat is all about what you like doing in and around Rochester during Bills training camp.

Best Rochester restaurants for Bills training camp

The Genesee Brewhouse was swamped with Bills fans this week and it makes sense. a Great view with covered outdoor dining is a top location. TRATA, Good Luck, Dinosaur Barbecue, Lento, and REDD are some other places in the city. You can get the original Garbage Plate at Nick

Tahoe’s downtown, but a lot of places have their own spin.

If you’re coming with the family, Seabreeze amusement park and Marge’s are around the corner from each other, even if they sit northeast of camp and not on the way back to Buffalo.

Some of my favorite places within a couple miles of St. John Fisher include the Pittsford Dairy, Thirsty’s, and Aladdin’s.

I won’t list all of the cocktail places in Rochester because there are a ton. I can confidently discuss breweries, however. Genesee Brewhouse is a great stop if you haven’t been and they always have a rotating tap of stuff you can’t buy anywhere.

Strangebird has good food and even better beer and it’s around the corner from the Strong Museum of Play if you’re looking for other things to pair. Elsewhere in the city are Rohrbach and The Richmond (which is a satellite tasing room for one of my favorite breweries, Mortalis). Closer to St. John Fisher is Faircraft Brauhaus in Fairport.

Further afield, K2 in Webster is a favorite of mine and it’s next door to Bar-Bill. Eli Fish in Batavia is a must-stop on your way home and they have very good food and beer.

Best Rochester family things to do during Bills training camp

The Strong Museum of Play in Rochester is truly a crown jewel of the city. Their recent expansion has only enhanced that.

Seabreeze amusement park in Irondequoit is a great spot to ride the rides.

Swillburger and Radio Social are two bars with a ton of games. Swillburger is the arcade you never knew you missed so much and Radio Social has a bowling alley and party games.

I really like the Rochester Museum and Science Center and the planetarium there is truly remarkable.

Rock Ventures is an indoor rock climbing center. Lasertron is in Henrietta.

What is your favorite thing about Rochester I didn’t mention?
