2024-25 LCPT Championship: NCAA Tournament Selection Committee vs. Cory Alexander

WHAT'S THE STORY?

Only one can join the ranks of the uncoolest of the uncool.

NCAA TOURNAMENT SELECTION COMMITTEE

HOW THEY GOT HERE:

—Defeated Brandon Garrison (84%-16%) in the quarterfinals.
—Defeated The Injury Bug (75%-25%) in the semifinals

RAP SHEET:

—Ruined what was supposed to be a cathartic day six years in the making.

—Despite being widely projected to be a 5 or a 6-seed, the Committee gave Louisville an 8-seed approximately 10 seconds into the Selection Show.

—The Cards were given a difficult matchup against 9th-seeded Creighton, with the winner

set to play No. 1 overall seed Auburn in the second round.

—When asked to justify Louisville’s seeding, no one associated with the Committee could offer up anything resembling a logical response.

vs.

CORY ALEXANDER

HOW THEY GOT HERE:

—Defeated Kenny Payne (53%-47%) in the quarterfinals.
—Defeated ACC Football Officiating (51%-49%) in the semifinals

RAP SHEET:

—Called approximately 17,000 Louisville games this season and at no point apologized for questioning the sanity and intelligence of Cardinal fans who wanted Kenny Payne fired after two seasons with 12 total wins.

—Broke the news that Kobe Bryant died and that the Joker isn’t a real person on consecutive nights.

—Claimed during Louisville’s ACC tournament game against Stanford that Cooper Flagg was robbed of ACC Defensive Player of the Year.

—Lost his mind at the end of Louisville’s ACC tournament win over Clemson that there wasn’t a foul called on a play where replay showed no foul was committed.

—All this aside, was still very bad at his job of calling basketball.

A champion will be crowned in 48 hours.
