The French right-back has been in talks for a little while but the latest update claims he will put to paper on a contract extension shortly.
Fabrizio Romano has posted an update on X that reads: “More on Jules Koundé. He’s now expected to put pen to paper next week, with formal steps of new deal until June 2030 expected in the coming days.”

There have been whispers of interest from Manchester City in Kounde recently, but a move never seemed likely and the defender will now commit his future to Barca.
Kounde has become a vital player for the Catalan giants, cementing his place in the starting XI at right-back after making the switch from center-back.
Barcelona have already locked down the likes of Raphinha, Gavi, Pedri and Lamine Yamal to long-term contracts, with Kounde the next to be ticked off the list.
