Chicago Bears fans were excited that rookie Luther Burden was back out on the field, but unfortunately, the news about a fellow second-round pick from this year is not good.

The Chicago Tribune’s Brad Biggs is reporting that rookie defensive tackle Shemar Turner could be out “at least a month.” Biggs also suggested that Turner may not be ready for the start of the regular season and will almost certainly miss all three preseason games.

Turner suffered an ankle sprain on Wednesday, and the Bears have

no plans to try and rush him back and risk him fully recovering.

While Turner rarely missed time throughout his college career, it is worth noting that he was consistently beaten up.

While this injury, based on what is currently being reported, doesn’t seem to come with long-term concerns, it’s worth noting that Turner does have an extensive collegiate injury history, and his missing training camp will certainly be a hindrance to his performance during his rookie season.

Turner’s health will certainly be something to watch moving forward.
