
Like all his fellow Bomb Squad designees, Raheem Sterling has started to work his way back to fitness ahead of the new season. Where and when he might find himself some actual football to play in said new season is a bit of a mystery at the moment however.
He certainly won’t be playing for Chelsea, but after a fairly disastrous year on loan at Arsenal, potential suitors aren’t exactly breaking down his door to present their offers to him either.
But according to The Athletic, there is at least one
“Champions League club in Europe” that would be willing to sign him. They don’t name names unfortunately and 68 teams could reasonable call themselves “Champions League clubs” at the moment, with qualifying still ongoing for the group stages.
The one bit of concrete information presented is that Chelsea have set an appropriately low asking price for a potential exit: just £20m. Certainly not prohibitive, but maybe still a bit optimistic given Sterling’s age and his
